Ashaki Means- This is Mrs. Means' 17th school year at Sedgefield and has been in the counseling profession for over 25 years. Her hometown is Birmingham, AL and she graduated from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, then went on to receive her Master's degree in General Counseling from Alabama State University located in Montgomery, AL, where she also started her career supporting college students in individual and group counseling. In her spare time, she loves to dance, travel, and loves going for walks at the mall. Over the course of 7 years, she and her family traveled to all 50 states. When you meet her make sure you ask which state was her favorite. Another interesting fact about your counselor is she married her high school sweetheart and they have 3 children. She loves football and her two favorite teams are the Auburn University Tigers, her husband's alma mater, and the Dallas Cowboys! Occasionally she will pull for the Panthers, but don't tell anyone we told you (LOL)!
Most importantly, Mrs. Means wants you to know she cares for her students and their families and is here to support you throughout your time at Sedgefield. Her motto is " The right time to Be Kind, is All of the Time!
